We are so excited to announce the 2025 Glover School Read-a-thon, our biggest fundraiser of the year! We're challenging our school community to read 500,000 minutes and raise $50,000 from March 5 - 19. The more you and your student read and raise, the closer we'll get to our goal!

Participating is simple. When you and your student log into Beanstack through the app or website, you'll be able to see and share their donation page with your family and friends and log all the reading you do at home. Donors can leave messages and notes to encourage your student's reading and raising!

How do we participate?

  1. Log in to Beanstack through the app or on Glover’s Beanstack page with your student using their Clever account.

If Clever doesn’t sound familiar to you, it will be familiar to your Glover kid!

Their Clever username is their MPS-issued Google email, formatted as: firstname.lastname.####@miltonps.org with #### representing their four digit projected year of graduation.

For example, a sample fifth grade student would be: john.doe.2032@miltonps.org.
Their Clever password is an MPS-issued 8-digit student ID number that is also used to unlock school Chromebooks. You may not know it but your Glover kid will!

  2. When prompted, connect your Glover Beanstack account with your existing Milton Public Library Beanstack account. Additional connection instructions can be found below.

  3. Start logging your minutes! Students can use Beanstack all year to track their reading, but only minutes logged on March 5 - 19 count towards our Read-a-thon rewards.

  4. Share your reader’s donation page directly from the Beanstack platform or by sharing this link with friends and family.

All donors can search for a specific student or contribute to the fundraiser as a whole.

  5. Businesses can sponsor the Read-a-thon and see their logo on our Read-a-thon page. After clicking on the Make a Donation button choose the Donate as a Sponsor option to upload your logo and message of support.

We have cooked up some exciting prizes to incentivize our student - AND staff - readers! Some are based on individual reading while others reward the collective efforts of a whole class or grade.

250 Minute Badge: Get a book page from your teacher or download and print a copy here, write the title or draw the cover of the best book you've read during this challenge, and add it to the ReMARKable Reader wall in the library. Don't forget to sign your name!

500 Minute Badge: Great job reading so far! You probably need a way to save your page. Next time you have library class pick out a bookmark.

1,000 Minute Badge: Do you need a new book to read? Visit the Friends of the Milton Public Library Book Shop to choose something new-to-you for free! MPL Book Bucks will be delivered to your classroom.

2,000 Minute Badge: You must be hungry after all that reading! Take a break with a free junior size cone or cup from the Ice Creamsmith. Gift Certificates will be delivered to your classroom.

Beanstack Frequently Asked Questions

Minutes must be logged March 5-19 to count towards available prizes.

Donations will be accepted online through March 31.

  • YES - books, ebooks, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks with ACTIVE listening, Epic, reading aloud or to yourself, being read to by a friend or grownup

NO - audiobooks used as background noise, TV/movie/video game/YouTube (and similar) captions

  • Beanstack supports reading accounts at schools and public libraries. Milton takes advantage of both!

Imagine your student’s Beanstack experience as the perfect PB&J sandwich. The Milton Public School account (MPS, accessed through Clever) is the peanut butter, the Milton Public Library account (MPL, accessed through a personal email) is the jelly, and Beanstack is the bread. You could enjoy each side of the sandwich on its own, but when you stack them (tandem link) you get an easy and delicious (rewarding!) experience.

When you link the MPS and MPL accounts all logged reading minutes are automatically applied to any active challenge hosted by MPS or MPL, including the required Summer Reading Challenge for grades K-5 moderated by MPL.

Your MPS student automatically has a school Beanstack account. If you do not already have a Beanstack account at MPL you can set one up using your personal email. The MPL requires an adult's email address to register so Summer Reading communication can be received outside of school. For detailed instructions, click here.
